• Event: Poetry reading at The Room, London N17, 17 September 2011.

A POETRY READING, in conjunction with the exhibition ‘Abstraction’, will be staged at The Room, London N17, at 7:30pm on 17 September 2011. The poets reading: Vincent Dachy, Fiona Templeton, and Anthony Howell. The exhibition includes work by Bonvin/Eden, Anthony McCall, Stephen Mallaghan, Yuko Shiraishi, Paul Sibbering, Amikam Toren, Gera Urkom and Mark Williams.

Vincent Dachy speaks for VD collective which is a front (for Discreet Ventures in art DIY). It turns around  short thoughts, notes and other fleeting fragments. Tribulations of a Westerner in the Western World was published by Les Figues Press in Los Angeles in 2006. Vincent Dachy also practices psychoanalysis

Fiona Templeton was a founding member of The Theatre of  Mistakes.  She is now Artistic Director of the New York-based performance group, The Relationship, specialising in experiments in relation to the audience, and innovative language.  She has won a number of awards, and her books include You-The City, Cells of Release, Mum in Airdrie, and London.  She is currently working in collaboration with composer Samita Sinha on her epic work The Medead, and writing a two-person piece to be performed with thereminist Pamelia Kurstin.

Anthony Howell’s first collection of poems, Inside the Castle, was published in 1969.  In 1986, his novel, In the Company of Others, was published by Marion Boyars.  Another novel, Oblivion, has been published by Grey Suit editions.  Anvil published his Selected Poems and his Analysis of Performance Art is published by Routledge.  His poems have appeared in The New Statesman, The Spectator and The Times Literary Supplement. His versions of the poems of Statius and the poems of Fawzi Karim have been well received.
